Answered Prayer #11863
I’ve had eczema all my life and for the most part it has been mild. However in 2013 I had an allergic reaction to medication which sent my immune system into overdrive. My skin quickly worsened and started to disintegrate. I was covered in sores, extremely itchy, my skin cracked and was weeping. I couldn’t sleep because of the itchiness and was in a lot of pain. It was very hard doing anything normal like opening a cupboard door or just getting a hug from my children, because it caused me so much pain. At the time my mum was in her 70s and her skin looked far better than mine. Dermatologists tried me on different creams and medicine but nothing helped, my skin just kept getting worse. My husband and my church prayed for me and encouraged me I would be healed, but at the time I couldn’t see it. My lowest point was one day when I was washing up in the kitchen, crying into the sink because I’ve just taken the maximum daily dose of very strong painkillers and they didn’t help. I actually asked God to let me die because I couldn’t take the pain anymore, then Jesus told me to read about Hezekiah. 2 Kings 20:1-11 talks about the righteous king Hezekiah who was dying of a boil but through Isaiah the prophet God told him he was going to be healed and live another 15 years. I started to cry again but this time because of relief and thankfulness. Since that day my skin started healing and responding to therapy but it took over a year to heal fully. Now it’s 2018 and my skin is better than ever and it’s all because Jesus still heals today!
