Answered Prayer #3050
I was diagnosed with severe anxiety, social phobia and panic attacks. I was unable to sleep, had no energy and was on edge all the time. Most days I would either be in tears or angry or exhausted or just numb. I couldn’t make decisions, couldn’t focus properly on anything and wasn’t able to do the simplest of tasks. Even food shopping had become an impossibility for me as I would have a panic attack in the supermarket and would need to escape. Some days I would not be able to leave the house and if I did I would only go to places that were familiar to me. During this time I came under attack from someone who had no knowledge of my situation and was unwilling to listen to my experiences. Her need to be severely hostile, aggressive, accusatory and angry towards me continued for over 10 months. My anxiety became much worse so my husband and I decided to pray and fast (eat no food) for 3 days in order to break this “curse” that was being directed against me. We had a strong sense that God was going to deal with this situation, we didn’t know how, but we trusted He would. As we broke our fast with a meal my husband said “I believe God is going to do something miraculous and it will be immediate too”. Within minutes of him saying those words the phone rang and the woman who had been speaking against me said she had been woken up at 3.00am agitated and upset and was unable to go back to sleep because of the situation between us and wanted to sort it out. We were then able to fully explain to her the affects of my anxiety disorder, how her perception of me had been wrong and our desire to restore the relationship. She was reluctant at first, but her attitude towards me changed completely when she realised how much I had been suffering, and she offered empathy and understanding for the first time. The anxiety and panic attacks have greatly reduced too and I am slowly regaining my energy levels again and am working towards coming off all medication too. Praise Jesus!
