Answered Prayer #1611
Jesus fulfilled the desires of my heart. Ever since I was a little girl I dreamed of becoming a mummy and having my own children. I always imagined having a little boy and a little girl. In Dec 1997, when I was 20, my own mum passed away, she had secondary bone cancer. No longer having my mum here on earth, intensified the desire for me to be part of a mother-child relationship in the future. I became pregnant in Spring 2007 but sadly miscarried and struggled with the experience of further pain and loss in my life. I became really fearful that I would never get to become a mother. I poured my broken heart and broken dreams to Jesus and chose to trust that he would guide me through my life, order my steps even when my own understanding couldn’t fathom my circumstances and heal the pain in my heart. I was amazingly blessed to become a mother to Samuel in May 2008. My husband and I chose this name because of the story of Hannah in the Bible, when God answered Hannah’s heart felt prayers for a child. She named her son Samuel-meaning God has heard. I was so blessed to have a wonderful relationship with my mum while she was alive and I had a deep longing to have a mother-daughter relationship once more. God showed such favour to me when in March 2011 I gave birth to a beautiful daughter-Lydia. Miraculously she was born on my mum’s birthday! We gave her the name Rosemary as a middle name in memory of my mum. God is so amazing, faithful and kind. He really does know everything about us. He sees and knows everything we’ve ever experienced, he’s collected every tear we’ve ever shed. Every detail of our life matters to him and he loves to shower us with his blessings and bring restoration to our broken pieces. We may not always understand the steps we take along our path, or His timing, but we can always know deep within us that HE is good ALL the time, that NOTHING is impossible for him and that he will work all things together for the good of those who love him.
